Peter Helman, LMSW

Licensed Psychotherapist

Peter holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University. He takes a collaborative, trauma informed, and humanistic approach to care, meeting clients with empathy, curiosity, and respect for their unique experiences. Drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities—including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) Peter tailors his work to support each client’s goals and strengths.

He works with individuals and couples navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, relationship concerns, anger management, and major life transitions. Peter is committed to helping clients deepen self-understanding, build practical coping skills, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change.

Outside of his clinical work, Peter fosters and trains rescue dogs, an experience that reflects his patience, compassion, and dedication to growth—both in and out of the therapy room.
