Courtney Hewson

Licensed Psychotherapist

Choosing a therapist is a meaningful step, and Courtney strives to create a supportive,
compassionate space where clients feel heard and understood. She works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, health concerns, hormonal changes, loss, adoption, parenting challenges, and relationship issues.

Courtney holds a BA in English Literature from Dartmouth College and a Master’s
degree in Social Work from Columbia University. She has experience working in
hospital, school, nonprofit, and private practice settings, and brings a thoughtful,
collaborative approach to her work with clients of all ages.

Her therapeutic style is grounded in evidence-based practices, including CBT and DBT, and incorporates mindfulness and attention to physical wellness as an important part of mental health. Courtney believes that people are often more resilient than they realize and that even overwhelming challenges can be approached in manageable steps. She also values the importance of bearing witness—recognizing that clients are not always looking for answers, but for a space to feel validated and understood.

Courtney feels privileged to do this work and enjoys learning about each client’s strengths and values as they work toward meaningful change. Outside of her practice, she enjoys singing, running, hiking, and attending movies and live performances. She is a mother of four and shares her home with a very tiny dog named Rio.
